Ballot count over 47%

Less than a week remains for county voters to cast their vote on a $20.5 million hospital bond.
As of Monday afternoon, the voter turnout stood at 47%. Office Clerk Wendy Moe said they have been receiving from 80-100 ballots each day this week.
Ballots must be returned to the county clerk’s office, either by mail or personal delivery, by 5 p.m. next Tuesday, May 14 to be counted in the results.
Clerk and Election Commissioner Debra Clark said a total of 2,481 ballots were mailed to registered voters.
The signatures of voters on each of the return envelopes must be verified against signatures on file.
Members of a canvassing committee will begin tallying votes Tuesday afternoon.
Signature verification will be completed on ballots that come in on Tuesday so the vote count can be completed on Tuesday.
On questionable signatures, she said the canvassing committee will determine whether those ballots will be counted or not.
