    The Wauneta-Palisade girls’ basketball team poured it on in post-season play, defeating Potter-Dix for the D1-6 District title for a trip to state.
    Kacie Arenz observed her eighth birthday on Sunday. Dinner guests of Jo and Ed Arenz for the birthday were Kacie, Jami and Jay Bartels, Shaylee Dorn and Ora Ruettimann.
    Taylor, Lanee and Evan Nordhausen returned home after spending the weekend with the Boos family.
    Bill and Martha Lawless attended the basketball games in McCook Thursday night and in Ogallala Friday night.
    Robin Hanna and Garrett were visitors of Wesley and Marjorie Wheeler Thursday afternoon.

    Sunday afternoon visitors in the Ron O’Neil home were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hayes and family.
    The Wauneta-Palisade speech team earned first place this weekend its their own invitational. The team earned 212 points followed by Hayes Center with 198.
    Ruby Jones and June McCallum visited Myrtel Hoff in her home on Tuesday, as well as several friends at the Heritage Home.
    Brian and Michelle Harchelroad of Wauneta announced the birth of their first child, Dawnta Nicole, born Feb. 26 at Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman. She weighed six pounds, 12 3/4 ounces and measured at 19 1/2 inches long.
    Josh and Jesse Skelton were Saturday evening visitors of Irving Skelton.
    Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Haarberg spent the weekend in Lincoln to help Theresa celebrate her 19th birthday.

    Vicki Hanna and Lora Lee Baker were accident victims at the school these past few days. Vicki suffered a cracked vertebra in her neck on Friday and Lora Lee a broken shoulder bone on Tuesday.
    Mr. and Mrs. Peco Anderson and boys and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Anderson and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Anderson of Culbertson.
    Mr. and Mrs. Chris Nordhausen were Sunday dinner and evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Pursley and family.
    Jay Fanning was a Thursday evening supper guest of Richard Romine.
    Mrs. Laveta Howard assisted Mrs. Lelia Fortkamp cooking dinner for eight Archer Oil dealers on Friday.
