Sales tax ready to go
The sales tax ducks are in a row.
Wauneta Village Clerk Evelyn Skelton said county and state officials have received the necessary information to give approval to levying the 1 percent village sales tax voters approved Feb. 5
The tax, aimed at providing money to stabilize the Wauneta Care and Therapy Center’s finances, passed 111-83.
The approval by other units of government was largely a formality.
The tax will go into effect July 1.
