Stove problem closes senior center until July 3

The Wauneta Senior Center will reopen for lunch July 3, but will be closed entirely until then.
Senior Center Director Karon Pantera said that due a malfunction with the center’s stove, the center will remain closed until repairs can be made.
The center’s board had planned to reopen the facility July 3, but the malfunction, which happened Monday morning, will force it to stay closed until then.
The center has been serving lunches during the pandemic, but only through delivery or pickup.
The reopening will be an indoor picnic, with the menu including hamburgers and hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and strawberry shortcake.
