Wauneta Chamber Christmas Kick-Off to start with soup Nov. 26
The Wauneta Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Kick-Off will begin Nov. 26 with the group’s annual soup cook-off.
The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. MT at the Community Center.
Leanne Hunt, one of the event’s organizers, said the Chamber has lined up six businesses, three to provide soup and three chili.
First-, second- and third-place winners will receive cash prizes of $100, $75 and $50. Prize money has been donated by Harchelroad Motors.
Each attendee will get a taste of all entries and then vote. All votes will have to be turned in by 6 p.m. so winners can be announced by the end of the event, Hunt said.
At 6 p.m., local elementary students will provide musical entertainment.
The cook-off will be immediately followed by the Third Annual Parade of Lights.
Check-in for that will be at 6:45 MT/7:45 CT, with the parade starting 15 minutes later.
