The Chase County Sheriff’s Office said a Wauneta resident jailed in Kansas is a suspect in several burglaries in the Champion area.
    Chase County Deputy Rob Browning said Shawn Mayberry, 24, who had been living in Wauneta for two or three months, is in jail in Trego County, Kansas, on unrelated charges of felony burglary and misdemeanor theft of property.
    Also jailed with Mayberry is Zachary Mandrell, 23, an acquaintance of Mayberry’s who was in this area seeking work, Browning said.
