The Chase County Fair picked up steam Monday with the 4-H Dog Show. Pam Gaston, pictured above, judged the event and gave pointers to particpants like Damon Spady, pictured. The fair kicked off Sunday with the 4-H Horse Show. Additional Monday events included the 4-H Companion Animal, Rabbit and Poultry Shows. The day wrapped up with Barrel Racing in the evening.

A year’s worth of planning will come to fruition this week as the Chase County Fair & Expo gets into full swing. The grounds are already buzzing with activities, from 4-H judging and competition to the opening of the expo Wednesday. Here, Josh Burke of Imperial, puts up a pair of the benefactor flags that line the walkway and entrance on the grounds.
The Wauneta Village Board of Trustees met for its regular August meeting last Tuesday, Aug. 8.
