The United Methodist Church, represented by Bob and Sharon Walgren, presented Wauneta’s Chateau Theatre with a $738.13 donation last Wednesday, April 19. The donation resulted from the annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner hosted by the church, which always donates the proceeds to an area organization. The Wauneta Breeze earned $1,000 in prize money in the annual Omaha World Herald Service to Agriculture and Community Service contests. Tuesday Breeze staff presented members of the Theatre committee with the donation. Breeze representatives from left, Shelby Cox (holding one of the awards), Diane Stamm and Lori Pankonin. Russ Pankonin was not pictured. Theatre committee members included Harchelroad, next to L. Pankonin, Kramer, Einspahr. Sheri Hink-Wagner with the Breeze and theatre committee member is on the right holding the other award.
An estimated 40 people attended the farewell reception for Dr. Jonathan Richman late Friday afternoon at the Chase County Community Hospital. Here, Hospital CEO Steve Lewis, left, presents Dr. Richman a gift from the hospital. Dr. Richman’s final day at the hospital and clinic is this Friday. He served as a family practice physician here for the past 14 years.
