Vernon Whetstone
Vernon Whetstone, former resident of Benkelman, Neb., and the “What’s Up” columnist in several area newspapers, went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep with his family near on Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Clear Creek Care Center, Westminster, Colo.
Survivors include his wife, Janice, of Arvada, Colo.; daughter Kimberly (Chuck) Bartholomew of Imperial; daughter Stephanie (Matthew) Vinton of Arvada, Colo.; son Kenneth Whetstone of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren; brother Larry (Jean) Whetstone of Altus, Okla.; and beloved dog Hairy William Weston Charles Randolph Bubba the First.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 27, at 11 a.m. MT at the Trinity Baptist Church in Benkelman, Neb. Interment will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery.
Visitation will be held before services starting at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church.
