Wauneta-Palisade’s Duncan Rector (below) and Braxton McKinney (left) have been playing baseball with the Imperial Senior and Junior American Legion teams this summer.
    McKinney, playing third base, keeps his eyes on a ground ball late in Junior’s close game against Ogallala Tuesday, June 26. Rector, playing shortstop, takes the catcher’s throw to second base ahead of the Ogallala base runner. Both Imperial teams lost one-run games.
    Post season play begins soon. Imperial will host the Juniors Legion District Area Tournament July 6-10.
    The Senior team has an all-star game July 12 and a round robin tournament July 13-15 in Holdrege before the Senior Legion District Area Tournament July 20-24 in Gordon.
