The Wauneta-Palisade School District has issued a friendly reminder aimed at keeping students safe.
    District officials are reminding drivers that when school buses are waiting for or dropping off students, and the cross arm is extended, it is illegal to pass the bus.
    The offense is a Class IV misdemeanor, punishable by up to a $500 fine and three-point deduction from a violator’s driver’s license.
