Wauneta-Palisade elementary students recently participated in the Palisade Volunteer Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Week poster contest. The finished posters were judged by WP high school students in art classes. Pictured, top from left, is fourth grader McKenna Doetker who won first place in the 4th-6th grade division, second grader Mesa Cox who won first place in 1st-3rd division and second grader Molly Yearous who received third place in the 1st-3rd division. Not pictured is second place winner Aaden Wheeler who also took part in the 1st-3rd division. Pictured, bottom from left, is third place winner Ashton Wheeler and second place winner Lilian Sandoval. Both are in fifth grade, and participated in the 4th-6th division. Elementary students in the Palisade Attendance Center will visit Palisade’s Fire Hall tomorrow. Students will get to see the lives of the on duty fire fighters, and see the fire trucks.
