Mid-Plains Community College offers additional learning opportunity to Hispanic community

Gail Knott, area Associate Dean of Outreach for Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) North Platte, expressed an objective to increase class participation for Hispanic residents.
MPCC’s outreach site in Imperial is holding a community education class covering the book “7 Effective Habits of a Family,” instructed by Venedith Vargas of Grant.
The class meets on Wednesdays from 12 noon to 1 p.m. It’s the first time it has been offered at the Imperial location.
The class is being taught entirely in Spanish and is in its fourth of seven weeks with 10 students in attendance.
Vargas said the class offers students the opportunity for self-improvement for themselves and their families, which in turn benefits the community.
