MPCC offering diverse selection of community classes

Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) in Imperial is beginning community education classes this month, said Brenda Ledall, MPCC Imperial campus coordinator.
Ledall said she and Carla Colton, MPCC office assistant, brainstorm ideas together to select what classes to offer.
“We look at trends for what other college sites are offering and try to offer as versatile selection as possible,” said Ledall.
About one third of the classes scheduled are a result of instructors who contact the college about teaching a class, she said.
A couple of fun classes being offered to those individuals who are thinking  about updates in their home or venturing into new territory trying new gadgets with their cooking are starting in January.
    Kitchen Gadgets and Things
Mike Ford from Knowlen and Yates is returning Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. to demonstrate new gadgets and accessories to inspire creative cooking.
Both of these classes are free of charge.
    Clothes Pin Valentine Wreath
Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. will be a class creating a Valentine’s Day wreath from clothes pins.         This class will be taught by Laura Pryor. The class costs $35.
February will be a busy month for community classes.
