Wauneta-Palisade receives Closing the Achievement Gap Award
Wauneta-Palisade Public Schools was recently awarded a Closing the Achievement Gap award in science at the 2017 Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association (NRCSA) spring conference in Kearney on March 23.
The Closing the Achievement Gap award is given to public school districts in Nebraska that have, by research indicators, closed achievement gaps across socioeconomic status for a period of five years.
For the purpose of the award socioeconomic status is defined as those students within a district who are eligible for free and reduced price lunches versus those who are not. The NeSA test scores of these two groups are compared in three content areas—math, reading and science
