Wauneta-Palisade Schools celebrates Dr. Seuss week
Wauneta-Palisade Schools celebrated Dr. Seuss week Feb. 28 at the Palisade Attendance Center. Rooms were decorated with various characters and themes found in Dr. Seuss’ children’s books, and faculty dressed the part. Teachers pictured left, from left to right, include third grade teacher Stephanie Malcolm, fourth grade teacher Jennifer DeWester, kindergarten teacher Dawn Doetker, principal Joseph Frecks, pre-k teacher Kristy Vapenik, first grade teacher Dawn Gill and second grade teacher Sheryl Einspahr.
Five high school boys read to each of the elementary classes. Dalton Harchelroad read to the fourth graders, Joel Maris third grade, Dennis Cavanaugh second grade, Duncan Rector Kindergarten and Lake Reikofski, pictured right, read to the first graders. Students also enjoyed a Dr. Seuss themed lunch of “Oodles of Noodles” pasta salad and “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Jello” which was blue jello with gummy fish on top.
