Area team second at softball tourney
A coed softball team from Wauneta, Palisade and McCook spent the weekend playing in the second annual “Catching For Cancer” Softball Tournament. Usually held in Indianola, rain forced the tournament to move to Cambridge July 6 and 7.
The tournament was in honor of Indianola’s Terry Perks, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2018.
Shelby and Megan Brennan organized Gigi’s Team to honor their grandma Pearl Andrew, a longtime resident of Palisade who is battling lung cancer.
