Lady Broncos improve to 12-5, avenge loss to Eagles

A change to the line up helped the Wauneta-Palisade volleyball team pick up three wins in two days last week.
WP Coach Terra Higgins switched sophomore outside hitter Alexa Sandman to libero before the Broncos’ games against St. Francis and Rawlins County, Kansas Thursday.
WP responded with a 25-21, 25-16 win over Rawlins County and a 26-24, 25-21 win over St. Francis.
Haylee Sandman led WP with nine kills against Rawlins County and 12 kills against St. Francis.
Maycee Wheeler and A. Sandman had 12 and 10 digs, respectively, against Rawlins County. A. Sandman had 12 against St. Francis. Michaela Dukes notched double-digits assists with 12 against St. Francis.
Friday WP hosted Brady, a team which had beaten the Broncos Sept. 28.
In the first set WP bounced back from a six-point deficit to take a 16-15 lead.
With the set tied at 18 each, Brady went on a 1-7 run to take the set 19-25.
The Broncos shook off a 8-8 tie in the second set and never looked back.
    H. Sandman had three kills to go with kills by Dukes and Destany Simpson to keep WP in control. Poor hitting by Brady helped the Broncos finish the set on a 10-4 run. WP took the set 25-17.
