Late Bronco comeback falls short on gridiron at Silver Lake

The return to 6-man football got off to a rough start for Wauneta-Palisade Friday with a loss at Silver Lake, but the Broncos showed the potential to have a successful season.
Three first-quarter turnovers contributed to a 0-20 deficit for the Broncos.
“Offensively, Coach (Randy) Geier had a great game plan that worked from the start, we just had too many fumbles and turnovers in the first half to get anything going consistently.,” coach Joseph Frecks said.
WP showed its resilience and found its rhythm after Silver Lake’s third touchdown.
The Broncos’ first touchdown came on a six-play drive that was capped with a seven-yard Grant Walker run. WP mixed it up with passes by Braxton McKinney and Garrett Hanna, paired with runs by McKinney and Walker.
Silver Lake answered two plays later with a touchdown, but in true 6-man fashion, Kyle Jutten returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown to close the gap to 13-28.
