Rescheduled meets keep Broncos on the move to start season

Wauneta-Palisade track competitors were kept on their toes last week with schedule changes.
The season opening Maywood/Hayes Center Invite was bumped from March 20 to March 26 after a snowstorm left the host’s track covered in snow.
The Sutherland Invite was moved up two days from March 30 to 28 to avoid potential bad weather.
Head Coach Dawn Doetker said coaches were very happy with the meets.
“Both girls and boys are working very hard and have a huge goal to accomplish each meet,” Doetker said. “It is so incredible with how we have scored so high in team points.”
As is typical for March track meets, the weather hasn’t been in the athletes’ favor, but Doetker said the team has battled through.
“We are setting a team goal each meet with team points or PRs,” Doetker said. “It has been a fun journey so far with this team.”
