RPAC All-Conference basketball teams announced, seven Broncos included

    The Republican Plains Activities Conference released its All-Conference basketball teams early this week.
    Wauneta-Palisade senior Duncan Rector was named to the first team of the West Division. Rector led the Broncos in scoring and steals, averaging 17.5 points and 3.6 steals per game.
    Classmate Dennis Cavanaugh was placed on the second team. Cavanaugh averaged 8.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.
    Earning honorable mention were seniors Dalton Harchelroad, Caid Doetker and Joel Maris.
    Doetker led the Broncos with six rebounds per game while adding just under six points per game.
    Maris averaged seven points per game and Harchelroad 5.4 points per game while starting for the Broncos.
    For the Lady Broncos, senior Monique Gooden and sophomore Haylee Sandman earned recognition.
    Gooden led WP in scoring with 9.7 points per game.
    Sandman shook off an early-season injury to finish with a scoring average of 9.1 points per game and led the team with seven rebounds and 4.1 steals per game.
