Tucker Boos helped Wauneta-Palisade to a home win against Hitchcock County Friday. WP followed up the victory by defeating Southwest Saturday.

With two wins Broncs run record to 8-2

Wins over Hitchcock County and Southwest highlighted a successful week of basketball for the Wauneta-Palisade boys’ team.
    Friday at home WP dominated the Falcons 74-42. The Broncos took a 12-2 lead five minutes into the game and scored on six straight possessions to increase the lead to 25-9 at the end of the first quarter.
    The Broncos’ long game kicked in during the second quarter when Ben Anderjaska and Dalton Harchelroad made three-pointers. Harchelroad knocked down four three-pointers in the first half.
    Duncan Rector outscored Hitchcock County 13-9 in the third quarter. WP made 7-10 free throws to give the Broncos a 60-33 lead.
    Rector hit two three-pointers, his third and fourth of the game, in the fourth quarter, and finished with 29 points.
    Harchelroad added 16 points and Duvel 10. Doetker and Cavanaugh each snagged six rebounds. Harchelroad had five steals.
