WP girls,’ boys’ teams third at Medicine Valley Invite

Wauneta-Palisade track coaches were pleased following last week’s Medicine Valley Invite.
    The girls’ and boys’ teams each finished third at the event in McCook. Fourteen personal records were set on the day.
    “Our team is doing very well,” said WP Head Coach Dawn Doetker. “We keep moving forward to reaching our goals.”
    Faith Simpson led the girls’ squad with first place finished in the discus and 100 meter hurdles. Simpson also placed second in the shot put and fourth in the high jump.
    Alejandra Almanza placed third in the 800 meter run and third in the 400 meter dash. Michaela Dukes was fourth in the 300 meter hurdles and fifth in the 100 meter hurdles (PR), as well as fifth in the long jump. Reagan Skow was fifth in the shot put (PR). The 4x100 meter relay finished fifth.
    Leading the way for the Bronco boys’ was Greg Gaston and Ben Anderjaska. Gaston placed first in the high jump and fifth in the 200 meter dash. Anderjaska won the 3,200 meter run (PR) and was third in the 800 meter run.
