Seven athletes have reported for this wrestling season at Wauneta-Palisade.
    Coach Danny Schluckebier, who leads the team with Shad Wiese, said practices have been going great so far.
    “Everyone is very excited and ready to focus on getting in shape and working on technique,” Schluckebier said.
    Senior Evan Nordhausen has wrestled all four years of high school.
    “We expect him to do well and help his team on what to expect at tournaments,” Schluckebier said, adding, “He is looking forward to doing great things and having a good year.”
    Faith Lemon wrestled for Dundy County-Stratton last season and WP coaches expect great things from her, too.
    “She is focused and very committed to proper everything,” Schluckebier said.
    Rounding out the team is five freshmen, Cody Holmes, Wyatt Muths, Colby Hoskovec, Cole Hamilton and Hunter Miner.
