Youth wrestling going strong in fourth year

As organizers and team members gain experience, the Wauneta-Palisade youth wrestling team has continued to grow stronger and busier.
The team, for students in junior high and younger, was able to add a meet in Sedgwick County, Colorado this season on March 9.
It was a meet Coach Shad Wiese had been interested in attending, but this was the first season the team was able to go.
Nicole Weise said WP’s wrestlers often get paired up against each other at more local meets, and while they’re good matches, it was nice to see some different kids.
Of the six WP wrestlers who went, five advanced to their respective championship matches.
Refs at the event also awarded WP with the sportsmanship award.
This weekend the team was at Holyoke, Colorado and Hitchcock County.
