Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska set to go through Wauneta

Imperial will play host to a stream of bicyclists with Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska (BRAN) early next month.
This is the 38th year for this event.
Riders will start in Ogallala on June 3 and end June 9 in Ashland.
The BRAN committee approached the Imperial Chamber of Commerce to be a host town for the event.
“We just kind of took it and ran with it,” Chris Lee said.
Being a past Chamber president, Lee is still involved with the group. He and a group from Pinnacle Bank stepped up to take it on.
They thought it was something that would be great for Imperial.
The riders will be camping on the grass near the Chase County Schools football field overnight June 3, then continue on through Wauneta and into McCook for their second overnight stop on the ride.
