Chase County Commissioners Dave Hogsett and Chuck Vette accepted Don Weiss, Jr.’s resignation from his commissioner’s position at the July 10 commissioners’ meeting.

Weiss had chosen not to run  for reelection in May’s primary. Out of the three Republican candidates, Kunnemann was elected commissioner.
Kunnemann had been attending commissioners’ meetings to help prepare for taking office in January.

After adjourning their regular meeting, the commissioners acted on several protests they heard July 2.

Bartels suggested no change to two of the protests.
