Jazz vocalist to entertain at Chase County Hospital Foundation event

The Chase County Hospital Foundation is inviting the public to attend the Donor Appreciation Event on Nov. 11.
There will be dessert, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by American jazz vocalist, composer and educator Jackie Allen.
Allen is best known for her interpretation of classic jazz ballads as well as contemporary tunes, and she just released her 12th album.
She was born in Milwaukee, Wis., grew up in a suburb of Madison, Wis., and moved to Lincoln in 2011 with her husband and son.
The performance is being provided with support from the Nebraska Endowment for the Arts and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
This year, the Hospital Foundation is honoring 2016 hospital donors because without the individual and business sponsor donations they would not have the updated equipment they now have. The foundation also received three grants totalling $60,000.
As the event will be taking place on Veteran’s Day, there will also be a small tribute to veterans during the event, said Deb Hrcka, assistant executive director of the Hospital Foundation.
The foundation has been putting on the Donor Appreciation Events since 2010. The public is encouraged to come see what all the donations have provided to the hospital in 2016 and 2017, she added.
