Joggin’ for Frogmen gearing up for fifth annual run May 26

Registrations are slightly ahead of last year’s numbers at this time of year for Imperial’s Joggin’ for Frogmen 5K and Tadpole Trot.
Set for Memorial weekend on Saturday, May 26, coordinator Kelsey Owens said she’s getting excited for the annual fundraiser for the Navy Seal Foundation.
On Tuesday, Owens said 55 were registered, up about 10 from this time last year. The 5K race in 2017 included 108 runners/walkers.
    Opening ceremonies next weekend start at 9 a.m. MT/10 a.m. CT with the 5K start set at 9:15 a.m. MT/10:15 a.m. CT. Registration gets underway at 7 a.m. MT/8 a.m. CT.
One big change this year—the gathering and starting area for the race and Tadpole Trot will move a block north on the other side of Campbell Park due to the skatepark construction, she said.
Participants and spectators are encouraged to park on West 6th Street, however, so 7th Street stays open for the races.
Retired Gunnery Sgt. Eric Gonzalez of Imperial will be a guest speaker.
