Ed Fye earns coaching honors

Doane Head Track and Field Coach Ed Fye has been named the men’s and women’s Coach of the Year by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Midwest Region. Fye led the Tiger track and field teams to the conference title this past weekend in Crete.
    On the men’s side, Fye was named the Fred Beile-Hauff Mid-America Sports GPAC Men’s Coach of the Year. The Tiger men rolled to an impressive 215.5 points at the conference meet, topping second place Northwestern which finished with 98 points.
    The women’s award is named the Jim McMahon-Hauff Mid-America Sports GPAC. Fye’s women’s team posted 184 points in the conference meet, out-distancing Hastings which finished with 145 points.
    For Fye, this marks the 10th time he has received each honor as voted on by the conference
