Ben Anderjaska started off the Wauneta-Palisade 3,200 meter relay and passes the baton to Joel Maris.

Records fall at hot Dundy County-Stratton Twilight

Multiple meet records and personal bests were broken last Friday at the Dundy County-Stratton Twilight.
    The Wauneta-Palisade Broncos set 17 personal records at the meet and one new school record.
    Cash Yearous’ jump of 10’6” in the pole vault set a school record and earned him fourth place. Tucker Boos also set a personal best with a jump of 9 feet and an eighth place medal.
    Yearous won the 1,600 meter run and Greg Gaston placed first in the high jump with a leap of 6’2”.
    Ben Anderjaska was third in the 800 meter run (PR) and Joel Maris eighth; Dennis Cavanaugh finished fifth in the discus (PR) and eighth in the shot put (PR).
    Each of the boys’ relay teams set personal bests. The 3,200 meter relay, Anderjaska,  Maris, Brody Nordhausen and Yearous, placed first. The 400 meter relay (Dalton Harchelroad, Gaston, Austen Rozelle and B. Nordhausen) was fourth and the 1,600 meter relay finished fifth (B. Nordhausen, Anderjaska, Harchelroad and Gaston).
    For the Lady Broncos, Faith Simpson placed first in the discus, second in the high jump and 100 meter hurdles and third in the shot put (PR). Michaela Dukes placed fifth in the 300 meter hurdles and sixth in the 100 meter hurdles, Alejandra Almanza was eighth in the 800 meter run and Reagan Skow finished eighth in the shot put.
